Welcome to the Independent Schools Hockey Festival

The U14 Independent Schools Hockey Festival is taking place from 19th to 22nd April 2018 hosted by St Andrew's College. From here you can follow your favoutite teams.

Message of Welcome

On behalf of St Andrew’s College, I welcome all the teams who are participating in the 2018 Independent Schools' U14 Hockey Festival.

It is my hope that this celebration of Hockey will, for the participants, be one of the highlights of their sporting year, and it is wonderful to welcome familiar faces and friends to Grahamstown for a packed festival of Hockey.

It is festivals like these that are the stuff of great school memories, and it is my wish that all games will be played hard, in the true spirit of a great school sport.

Win or lose, each player should be able to leave here having given of their absolute best, having enjoyed a great festival.

While the competition will no doubt be keen on the field, the sense of good-will and cameraderie between our schools and the joy of the great game of Hockey is what the festival is really about, and the opportunity to re-acquaint and further grow the long-standing friendships between our schools is what makes this one of the highlights of the sporting year.

We also welcome parents and visitors accompanying the teams, and we hope that you all have a wonderful few days in Grahamstown, a place renowned for its warm, Eastern Cape hospitality.

When the draw is announced and if your School uses SOCS sport, you will see the competition's fixtures listed in your School's dedicated sports website, with start times, location maps and the results as they happen. The results will automatically appear as the competition progresses and the School can also upload reports and points scorers as well as your team's colours using Team Kit Builder.

This page is already connected with the sports website of every school using SOCS sport, helping to keep everyone informed and up-to-date as the competition progresses.
